Beacon New York RPPC Scarce View Dillon House and Hotel Raised 1956 Postcard V16
As shown, watermark (do not copy, is digital and not on the actual postcard) Please view all the photos. I have not been able to locate any other images of the Dillon House Hotel, other than a small view of the left corner on the Beacon Historical Society fb page. This may be the only photo taken prior to the demolition of this beautiful historical building. Information based on 1889 Sanborn Maps indicates a commercial hotel with the same footprint as this one. Kern is identified as the Proprietor of the hotel on Main Street. The 1915 directories identify Hotel Albert at 450 Main St. In 1919 in the same location shows Hotel Albert. 1929 Beacon directory identifies Dillon House at 450 Main St. It appears the street was renumbered in the 1930's.
Newspaper articles for the wreckoning of the Dillard house 360 Main st, which was raised in 1956 for a new bank building. Standard size unless otherwise noted. Condition Description is normal wear associated with an old postcard or photo; it might have creases, corner bumps, ink, or pencil on the front. Please see photos for depiction of the cond itio n.
